A legacy built with purpose

What if your home loan could do more?

Thrivent Credit Union donates your origination fees to local housing access efforts.

What are origination fees?

Most mortgage lenders charge an origination fee, which covers expenses like application processing, underwriting the loan and other administrative services.

How much are they?

Origination fees are usually about 1% of the total cost of the loan. For a median home price, that's about $3,500, expected in cash from the home-buyer at closing.

How we're different

Thanks to Thrivent's not-for-profit status, origination fees do not go toward lining investors' pockets. Instead, we put your money to work bettering your local community.

Impact of your loan

When you take out a home loan with Thrivent, you actively support local housing opportunities for low-income families.

Just last year, Thrivent Credit Union collected and donated a total of $1,750,000 in mortgage origination fees to Habitat for Humanity chapters across the U.S. These funds contributed to the construction of 43 homes for low-income families, all in our clients' local communities.
